Club Statement: Backroom Staff Announced
Boss Gavin says work is already underway to prepare Gresley FC for next season.
Gresley FC are delighted that Gavin Hurren’s exciting new look back room staff will consist of,

ASSISTANT MANAGER: Dan Crane.

PLAYER COACHES: David McDermott & Daryll Thomas.

And we’re very pleased to confirm that
PHYSIO: Super Bob Elliott
KIT MEN: Jack Taylor & Matt Dingley
Have all agreed to continue working with Gresley FC to complete Gavin’s back room staff for the upcoming season.

Assistant Manager - Dan Crane started his career at West Bromwich Albion before moving on at 19 to find first team football. He played for 2 years at Burton Albion under Nigel Clough, which then earned Dan a move back to the football league with Rushden and Diamonds. At 23 Dan started to forge a career in non-league playing for clubs such as Hednesford Town, Solihull Moors, Brackley, Bedworth United and Alvechurch.
Dan made 350 appearances at Hednesford being involved in 4 play-off campaigns, Dan also won promotion with Bedford united and last season played a key role in helping g Alvechurch reach the play-off final.
At the age of 35, Dan will bring a wealth of experience to pass on to younger players in the squad but also has a huge desire to play and will challenge for the number 1 jersey.

First Team Coaches - David McDermott and Daryll Thomas

David 31 comes again with a real footballing pedigree.

David started his career at Walsall where he made his 1st team debut at just the age of 16 and making over 20 league appearances and an FA cup 4th round start against Stoke.
He then moved onto Kidderminster Harriers and York city where he made upward of 100 appearances in the conference.
He has also played in the Conference North & Conference South with loan spells for Stourbridge, Telford, Halesowen and then playing for Redditch and Hednesford. David has great enthusiasm to help the young and upcoming players Gresley FC.

Daryll Thomas started his football career with Nottingham Forest then got a move and signed for Chesterfield, where at the age of 20 went to start a career in non-league. Daryll has played for clubs such as Matlock Town, Ilkeston, Retford United, Carlton Town. Daryll is a proven goal scorer at every club and level he has been at. Now DT is taking his first steps into coaching and management with all his experience and local contacts will play a massive part in Gavin’s back room staff.

Lastly, I would like to add Spencer Weir-Daley has left the club and we wish him all the very best for the future as he has a massive 12 months playing and representing his country. He is a very close friend of mine (Gavin) and I, with everyone at Gresley FC want to say a big thank you for all he had done while working at the club.
