New Player Signing
Manager Gavin Hurren can reveal another signing for the upcoming 2019/20 season.

Gresley FC can confirm Andrew Westwood has put pen to paper for the 2019/2020 campaign.
Westy is a very experienced box to box midfielder - his previous clubs include Chasetown, Bedworth United, Hinckley and more recently Walsall Wood.

Andrew started his career at Chasetown where he made his full debut age 16. After a successful time with the scholars he then signed for Bedworth United, where he played an influential part of the side who were promoted to the Southern Premier league 2014/15 season. Hinckley was then the next move for Andrew where again he played a major part in the Hinckley side who finished runners Up in the league and reached the final 16 of the FA Vase. In 2016 Andy signed for Walsall Wood where he was the driving force in midfield that helped Walsall Wood’s Double- League Title and League Cup winning side in the 2016/17 season.

“Every team needs a Andrew Westwood”, said manager Gavin Hurren. “I have known Westy many seasons now and Andy is a player that every opposition player who goes up against him comes off that pitch knowing they have been in a game.

“He will bring so much experience and energy to the team and with his successful playing career of winning promotions he will demand and drive our Gresley team on and off the field. Every team needs a Andrew Westwood player who does the horrible side of the game, the energy he brings to the team and work rate is unbelievable I am sure he has 3 lungs. I am looking forward to working with Westy again, as we had a lot of success at Walsall Wood and I know having him on board will also play key role in any success Gresley FC will have this season “

Welcome Andrew from everyone at Gresley FC.
