Northwood is preparing himself for a transfer demand from out-of-favour goalkeeper Bob Aston.
Aston, currently fighting a 56-day ban after that notorious nose-biting allegation earlier in the season, lost his first team spot when Karl Austin rejoined Gresley after his abortive trip to America.

And while Gresley still have an interest in the FA Vase Austin will remain Northwood’s first-choice keeper because Aston is ineligible for the competition.

“I’m expecting a few fireworks,” said Northwood. “Bob’s not going to settle for a place in the reserves. I think he’ll be wanting away.”
