Keeper Signs
In a very active first week back at the club, Gresley Rovers manager Carl Abbott has strengthened his rapidly developing squad by signing goalkeeper Joe Williams for the upcoming season.

It had been strongly anticipated that fans favourite Lewis Fenney would make the return to the Moat Ground, but the former number 1 and supporters’ player of the year has recently moved to Liverpool and so won’t be returning to the club any time soon. With that news Abbott has moved swiftly to get his new man.

Describing his new shot stopper as “Big, strong and commanding”, Joe has built his experience having come through the development teams at Hednesford Town, before appearing in the first team. Joe has also played at Stone Old Alleynians.

Commenting on the new addition, Abbott said: "Joe is a real safe pair of hands and a young lad who is truly committed to his football. His handling is excellent, as is his shot-stopping, and he has a powerful kick. Joe's skill with the ball at his feet offers us a different option for playing out or from restarts, enabling us to get the ball higher up the pitch. He is another excellent addition to the group.”
