Rovers face new teams
Story courtesy of Burton Mail
Gresley Rovers and Rocester will be facing new faces in the Banks’s League Premier in the forthcoming season.
Former Central Midlands Supreme Division side Ilkeston Town were elected at the league’s annual meeting while division one champions Darlaston and runners-up Pelsall Villa were promoted.

The moves increase the number of teams in the Premier Division by 1 to 22.

With Hilltop Rangers, Lichfield, Brosely Athletic, Moxley Rangers, Wem Town and Clancey Dudley all promoted to Division One, Rovers and Rocester reserves will meet the challenge of six new sides – Nuneaton Borough reserves, who were relegated from Division One, new clubs Bloxwich Strollers and Cheslyn Hay and the reserve sides of Oldbury United, Rushall Olympic and Paget Rangers.

Rovers are re-introducing a youth side in the newly-formed Banks’s Youth League. They will be a part of a nine-team division which also includes sides from Lye Town, Redditch United, Chasetown, Nuneaton Borough, Halesowen Town, Halesowen Harriers, Paget Rangers and Oldswinford.

All Youth team games will be played midweek with Gresley’s home games on a Wednesday night.
