Gresley Rovers vs Bedworth United

Rovers

(Reserve Division)

The
reserves got back to winning ways last Saturday with
a 2-0 victory over Bedworth that completed a hat-trick
of wins over them this season. After last weeks impressive
debut, youth team Tom Witham continued in central
defence and had another superb game, of particular
note was his composure and ability to pass the ball
out of defence both short and long. Definitely one
to watch. Andy Cheetham started the game after his
recent layoff due to a knee injury.

Rovers
took the lead after 24 minutes thanks to Simon Trickett
. The midfielder smashed home from 18yards after good
work down the right resulted in Greg Smith laying
on the chance

The
game was as good as over after 70 minutes when Andy
Cheetham capped a fine performance with a solo effort
down the left which saw him go past several defenders
before planting a right foot effort into the far corner
of the Bedworth net.
