Borrowash Victoria vs Gresley Rovers

Reserves
go down to the Vics

Gresley Rovers
sent a youthful reserve side to play Borrowash Victoria in a pre-season
friendly last night.

The home
side fielded five of their first team including ex Rovers defender Karl
Reynolds and a surprise choice of Mick Sandar.

Mick had
permission from John McGinlay to play in the match that is sure to raise
the question of his future in Rovers first team squad.

John Jenkinson
scored the opening goal after 22 minutes when a Tim Pole centre was headed
across the goal by John Smith leaving Jenkinson a simple chance.

This was
the first goal scored by Jenkinson since re-joining Rovers from Burton
Albion.

Borrowash
equalised on 25 minutes but Rovers should have been back in the lead if
Rob Louca had taken his chance after more good play down the left by Pole.

Micky Sandar
was on hand to score the winner for the Vics with 10 minutes left.
