Today we entertained Brocton FC on a fairly humid afternoon. We came out and started well putting Brocton under pressure and we got our break through with a bit of a six yard scramble with the ball finally dropping at Chris Burnham's feet who tapped it over the line.

We then should have gained the momentum but we sat back and invited Brocton onto us and they obliged by equalising with from our point of a sloppy goal. From a throw in on their left side half way in to our half we didn't pick up their centre forward, and he went clean through and made it 1-1.

We then regrouped and regained the lead through Andy Elliott who had dropped down from the first team to get some fitness after an injury to make it 2-1. Brocton again levelled just before half time with another sloppy goal, from their goal kick their forward flicked the ball on for their other forward to go clear through and slip it under our keeper's body.

It was 2-2 at half time somewhat luckily with Brocton having a couple of clear cut chances which they failed to capitalise on.

I said to the lads at the break that we needed to work harder on and off the ball and do the basics better. In the second half they responded with a lot more work rate and we started to gain the upper hand but against the run of play Brocton managed to go ahead just after the break but to be fair we kept our composure and drew level soon after with Andy Elliott getting his second making it 3-3 with 10 minutes left.

By this time we had started to play a bit of football and Brocton were getting tired, and we started to find gaps in their defence with Sam Worth down the right and Joe Swift down our left who both worked hard and delivered some great balls in the box all game.

The winner came from some neat football between Daryle Towle and Sam Worth down our right and a reverse through ball which Chris Burnham latched on to and clinically passed the ball inside the far post to get his second and the winner to make it 4-3 and deservedly all three points.
