We took to the field against a very young and inexperienced Bromsgrove side who were full of energy and endeavour which we knew we had to match before controlling the game and playing our passing game. Again we started with a 4-3-1-2 formation with Ravi Sangha returning to partner Chris Burnham upfront with David Williams in the hole.

Credit to Bromsgrove their work rate was excellent and we weren't matching them and ultimately were making hard work of things. We weren't closing people down quick enough which was causing problems and giving them far too much time on the ball. Bromsgrove created a few chances but we took the lead from a good volley from Burnham which we hoped would settle us down.

The rest of the half followed a similar pattern as we never really got going and Bromsgrove continued to outwork us without creating too much themselves. We did have a number of opportunities but again failed to take them.

The second half was an improvement as we upped the tempo but were still looking vulnerable when we let them turn and run at us. We finally gave ourselves some breathing space when Ravi Sangha hit a good curling shot having wasted the first attempt. The game was then put to bed on 82 minutes when Burnham tapped in his second of the day and Bromsgrove's spirited resistance was broken.

Credit to Bromsgrove their young team matched us for long spells through hard work and sheer enthusiasm but we didn't help our cause by standing off and allowing them the time and space to play. We did improve after the break but need to start much sharper next time out. 3 more points in the bag though and a clean sheet is always pleasing.
