Gresley Rovers vs Bilston Town

Hemming's way!

Substitute Alex Hemming scored a late winner to secure all three points for Gresley Rovers reserves.

It was the visitors who opened the scoring against the run of the play. A header by Brown crashed against the Gresley bar and unfortunately hit the back of Roberts in the home goal and into the net.

On 30 minutes Jenkinson made it 1-1 with a powerful low drive after White had opened up the Bilston defence.

Gresley were in front three minutes later when White hit a spectacular shot that flew into the top corner of the net from 25 yards.

In the second half Bilston began to apply some pressure on the Gresley defence and their equaliser came in a truly remarkable fashion.

A half cleared ball fell to Davis who hit a flying side volley from 20 yards that screamed into the net giving Roberts no chance of getting even near it.

With the game looking as if it would end all square, a mazy run down the left flank by Alexander set up Hemming who accepted the chance and knocked the ball home to give Gresley a deserved win.
