Gresley Rovers vs Tamworth

Gresley played Tamworth at the Moat Ground and inside the first 10 minutes Gresley found themselves 2-0 down due to poor marking that allowed Smeath to score with a free header.

A few minuets later Adam Cliff had time to clear the ball from a cross but failed to do so allowing Wilson time and space to pick his spot.

After this, Gresley got to grips with the game and matched Tamworth for the rest of the first half.

The second half saw Gresley have most of the ball but not carving out any clear-cut chances.

The Gresley keeper didn’t have a lot to do and the defence looked solid with Tom Skinner having a good game.

Manager Bob Corner said: "During the first 10 minutes we let our selves down and the players who made the mistakes know what they did and hopefully will learn from it.

"We matched Tamworth in the second half and were probably the better side but we did not create any real scoring chances. The lads are working hard and although the results are not good at the moment I am sure we will soon start winning games which will help confidence.

"My major concern is that during this game we failed to work their goalkeeper and did not create any chances to do so, but we are improving and more players will be coming soon."

Final score: Gresley Rovers 0 – 2 Tamworth
