Willenhall Town vs Gresley Rovers

Guthrie strikes again

Johnie Guthrie struck his third goal in two games from midfield to clinch another victory for the ever-improving youth team.

Gresley were without Kris Vernon and Chris Mawby but still came through worthy winners in a hard fought match that saw Gresley establish themselves as the in form team in the lower section of the division, a division that has only a hand full of points separating second place to bottom.

Gresley were probably the better team on the day and should have scored more, although Willenhall did have their chances. Guthrie struck in the 53rd min to give us the lead after a great spell of football after half time.

It was a very hard call to give man of the match as all played top draw, but Jak Ward edged it with a very busy display creating many chances and going close himself.

Leon Dolman, Andy Foster, Dan Foster, Brian Barker and Stu Lynne also deserve a mention for a great display.
