Gresley Rovers vs Bloxwich

Playing in front of a slightly larger crowd than normal saw probably our youngest side to be fielded this season, we now have to start looking at next season's players, as many of ours will be too old for next term.

We didn't get off to a bad start and it took a little while for the young blood to get to grips with the pace of the game. With nothing in the game early on we managed to get the break, young prospect Brian Barker who had been in the first team squad earlier in the day and was due to play in the reserves the following evening made a winding run into the box and curled the ball into the top right hand corner.

Our lead did not last though as Bloxwich turned up the heat and equalized soon after with their number 10 beating 2 or 3 defenders and hitting the far corner. Up until half time it was all Bloxwich and to be honest they should have come off winning at the break.

A couple of subs were made as we introduced Alex Bolt up front to partner Stu Lynne.
Alex caused problems from the off as we raised our game to compete with them.

Substitute Danny Kinson came on and did not see much of the ball for a while but when he got the chance he made it count and put us in the lead with a close range effort.

Another 3 points for our ever improving team, looks like we have secured 4th spot but it will be difficult to get 3rd.
